Accident w/ Rescue – Willards Md.

6/16/2010 – On 6-16-2010 the Willards Fire Department was alerted for an accident with rescue at Main St and Rt.50 westbound. 8-15 (Keith Twilley) arrived to find a serious accident with entrapment in both vehicles. One vehicle was still on the highway while the other car after impact went down into a ditch about 100 feet away from the site of the crash. Command requested a Recue Truck from Sta.7 Pittsville to respond to the scene. The car that was still on the highway had 2 people trapped inside while the car in the ditch had 1 person trapped. Crews removed the driver’s side doors and the roofs off of both the vehicles to get the passengers out. It took nearly 30 minutes to free everyone from the wreckage. EMS crews transported 2 pri-2 and 1 pri-1 patients to PRMC in Salisbury for treatment. Rt.50 westbound was shut down for nearly 2 hours.
