Traumatic Injury – Phillips Landing – Laurel

6/19/2010 – Around 5:30PM Sussex EOC alerted Station 81, Medic 102, and Trooper 2 of a traumatic injury at Phillips Landing. While enrout to the call, Sussex advised that the patient had dove into a shallow area of the river and was unable to feel anything from the neck down. Once on scene Laurel EMT’s and Sussex Medics assesed the patient and decided to utilize Trooper 2. Laurels EMS crew packaged the patient for transport to the LZ and transfered the patient to Trooper 2. Once in the helecopter the patient was flown to Christiana Hospital. Units were on scene for about 30 minutes.
