Fatal MVC with ejection – Route 33 – Easton, MD

11/6/2010 – At approximately 4:00 AM Talbot Center dispatched Station 60 (Easton), Paramedic 96 and Paramedic 90 for a serious 10-50 PI with ejection on Route 33 (St. Michaels Road) in front of Town and Country Liquors. Chief 60 (C.R. Chance) arrived on location to find one vehicle with extensive damage and the occupant ejected. Chief 60 established command.

Paramedics transported the patient to the Memorial Hospital at Easton where she was stabilized and then transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by Trooper 6. She succumbed to her injuries Sunday.

The vehicle left the roadway and traveled approximately 400 feet, cutting off several utility poles before coming to a stop. The patient was approximately another 100 feet from the vehicle.

Route 33 remained closed in both directions for 8 hours while the Maryland State Police conducted their investigation and the utility company set new poles.
