Serious MVC with Rollover – Shore Highway – Hillsboro, Md.

3/29/2012 – At 7:00 PM Caroline dispatched Talbot County Station 80 (Queen Anne-Hillsboro) and Paramedic 13 for an MVC, reported serious with rollover and entrapment on Shore Highway (Route 404) in the area of Hillsboro Road.

Chief 80 (C. Morgan) arrived on location to find two vehicles involved, one overturned with two patients entrapped. Officer 803 (C. Morgan) established command and requested an additional Paramedic Unit and assistance from Station 400 (Ridgely). Crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and prepared for extrication. Command requested Aviation, and Trooper 6 was dispatched. Officer 416 (W. Winchester) from Engine 401 handled the LZ. One patient refused treatment at the scene and two patients were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Trooper 6.

Shore Highway was closed in both directions for the duration of the call and the Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
