Accident w/ Rescue – Delmar De.

8/8/2008 – At 12:16am the Delmar Fire Department along with Sussex County Medic 102 were alerted for a accident with injuries at the intersection of Iron Hill Rd & Rt.13. Crews arrived to find a Chevy S10 Pickup and a Ford Focus that were involved in a T Bone type accident. The pickup struck the other vehicle in the driver’s side door. The driver of the Focus was trapped and complaining of leg & chest pain. Rescue crews worked two sets of Hurst tools to free the driver in about 5 minutes where she was then transferred to the EMS crew for treatment. The passenger of that car was already packaged and in an awaiting ambulance. The driver of the Chevy pickup refused treatment at the scene.

Two patients were transported to PRMC in Salisbury Md for treatment. The Delaware State Police were on scene. The Delmar Fire Police shut down one lane of northbound Rt.13 during this alarm.
