Smoke Investigation – McDonald’s – N. Salisbury

7/25/2010 – At 1:32pm Station 2, 74 and 16 were alerted to a reported structure fire – McDonald’s on N. Salisbury Blvd. Chief 1 arrived on location to find customers and employees still inside the restaurant and ordered an immediate evacuation. Interviews with employees determined they heard a ”Pop” and the kitchen began filling with smoke. Crews investigated the grill vent hoods, electrical panels and rooftop HVAC units. It is unknown at this time what the cause was. The restaurant remained closed until could be inspected by city building and health department officials, as is standard policy anytime there is a restaurant fire.
