Serious MVC with Entrapment – Route 50 – Cordova, Md.

6/5/2012 – At 3:30 PM Talbot Center dispatched Station 50 (Cordova), Station 60 (Easton), Paramedic 90 and Paramedic 93 for a 10-50 PI, reported serious with entrapment, on Ocean Gateway (Route 50) in the area of the 58 Mile Marker.

Chief 60 (J. McNeal) arrived on location to find two vehicles involved with entrapment and established “Ocean Gateway” command. After further investigation Command requested an additional Rescue from Station 80 (Queen Anne-Hillsboro) and Aviation. Once crews completed extrication one patient was transported to the Memorial Hospital at Easton with minor injuries and one patient was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by Trooper 6. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Maryland State Police.
