Fire on Railroad Bridge – Queen Anne, Md.

8/8/2011 – Talbot Center dispatched Station 80 (Queen Anne-Hillsboro) for a smoke investigation on Main Street in the area of the old Cannery. Engine 85 arrived on location and Officer 802 (T. Unruh) established command. After further investigation it was discovered the old wooden railroad bridge was on fire. Crews pulled a forestry line through the thick under brush and were able to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
